Siento y siento investigates the intradualities of knowledge through gesture, language, and the bookform. Body, light, and shadow question the distinction between the real and the unreal, probing Western systems of knowledge and the assumption of a singular, superior truth. Prioritising complexity and duration, Hill extends an offering that asks to be met halfway, emphasising slowness and gentle undoing.
Just as we learn to speak, we learn to become aware of how our bodies fill space: to hold our arms by our sides, cross our legs, keep our backs straight, to always maintain a soft, pleasant smile. Through intuition and privacy, the body breaks free of these restrictive movements and societal expectations, able to translate itself into a new language: ways of being, looking, and knowing.
